Specialist Contact Lens Practice.
My name is Paul Toleman and I have been the optometrist for the Holmes Chapel community since 1981.
I specialise in complex contact lens fitting for conditions such as Keratoconus and post Corneal grafts. I have over 35 years experience in caring for and providing complex contact lenses to hospital patients. I now provide this service privately at my practice in Holmes Chapel Health Centre and at Cheshire Consulting Centre in Crewe.

My Experience
I obtained a degree in Ophthalmic Optics in 1977, became a Fellow of the College of Optometry in 1978 and commenced working as assistant to the famous contact lens specialist A.G.Sabell at Birmingham Midland Eye Hospital where my initial interest in complex contact lenses began.
I opened my own practice in Holmes Chapel in 1981 providing general Optometric care and advice in addition to fitting specialist Contact Lenses for the patients of Leighton Hospital and Macclesfield General Hospital. I am a Member of the BCLA (British Contact Lens Association) and supporter of the Keratoconus Group

Typical Conditions we treat
Keratoconus
A debilitating visual disorder, caused by progressive distortion of the front surface of the eye (Cornea ). Spectacle lenses cannot correct the induced distortion satisfactorily. However, relief is at hand. With a well-fitted Contact Lens we can achieve amazing results . Comfort and quality vision is our standard.
After Corneal Grafts (Keratoplasty)
Corneal grafts are used to replace damaged and diseased corneas. After the surgery, the new cornea may have some distortion creating similar visual problems to Keratoconus. However with our range of advanced, specially designed Contact Lenses we can comfortably restore your vision.
Cosmetic Lenses used after Eye Trauma
When the eye is damaged by accident or seriously affected by complex ocular surgery using our specialist lenses we can restore the eyes appearance and vision simultaneously, often achieving outstanding results

Printed Cosmetic Lenses
In the case of eye trauma, we can provide gas permeable contact lenses printed in Switzerland with eye design (taken by special imaging) of the opposite eye in order to generate a near perfect match for the injured eye.
